Schnabel Engineering, an employee-owned firm, seeks an Entry-Level (Staff) Engineer in Chadds Ford, PA to grow their geotechnical and hydraulic practice. You will develop field and analytical skills, contribute to dam and water infrastructure projects, and work with a strong team to deliver reliable engineering solutions.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree, strong communication, and willingness to travel for field assignments over several months as needed.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Positive attitude and ability to multi-task.
• Strong work ethic and desire for continual self-improvement.
• Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel, including assignments lasting several months.

Responsibilities

• Apply professional principles, numerical models, and innovative solutions as part of a team under supervision.
• Assist in the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports.
• Prepare complete plans and specifications for construction documents.
• Develop engineering recommendations and write technical reports.
• Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures and dam components.
• Inspect dams and hydraulic structures and collect field data.

We approach problems with creativity and innovation. The Chadds Ford, PA office of Schnabel Engineering is seeking an Entry-Level (Staff) Engineer to join our growing practice. We are looking for a motivated candidate with an interest in developing both field and analytical skills, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of a strong team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Apply professional principles, complex numerical models, and innovative solutions to real-world problems as part of a team of engineers and scientists while under the supervision of senior engineering personnel.
• Assistin the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports with input and guidance from senior engineersin accordance withinternal drafting procedures and guidelines.
• Prepare complete plans and specifications to be part of construction documents.
• Develop engineering recommendations andwritetechnical reports.
• Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures including spillways, dam outlet works, diversion and check structures, measurement flumes, and other various raw water infrastructure.
• Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures.
• Collect data and measurements in the field.

Required Skills/Experience:

• 0-2 years of relevant professional experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineeringor related field
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Prior internship or professional work in a related field (i.e.geotechnical engineering, construction, civil engineering, etc.)
• Master’s degree
• EIT certification

• Mustpossessa validU.S.driver’s license as driving is an essential function of the job

The compensation range for this position is between$62,400to $86,000.Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. Weremaincommitted to providing competitive andequitablecompensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
