Job summary

MajorKey Tech is seeking an Entry-Level Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role offers hands-on experience across multiple accounting areas and opportunities to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will support AP/AR activities, process invoices and expenses, assist with invoicing and collections, and help with bank reconciliations and journal entries. You will work with AI tools to streamline processes and participate in month-end close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of accounting experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, including AP, AR, and general ledger accounting.
• Strong Excel skills and willingness to learn new financial systems.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with technology and utilizing AI tools to increase productivity and improve processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.
• Process vendor invoices, payments, and employee expenses.
• Prepare customer invoices and assist with collections and cash application.
• Create, track, and reconcile purchase orders (POs).
• Assist with bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare basic journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Assist the Finance team with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Help maintain accurate general ledger records and research discrepancies.
• Assist with sales tax compliance and reporting using Avalara.
• Maintain organized documentation for audits and financial reviews.
• Work with internal departments to resolve billing, invoice, and PO questions.
• Leverage AI tools and automation to improve accounting processes, reporting, reconciliations, and overall efficiency.
• Assist with ad hoc Finance and Accounting projects as needed.
