Tecolote Research, Inc. in Colorado Springs is seeking entry-level cost analysts to support the Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC) with cost-estimating efforts grounded in GAO practices.

You will help frame 15-year funding outlooks and collaborate with DoD and space cost communities to build models and dashboards. The role requires a STEM degree, strong data skills, and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years practical experience in cost estimating, operations research, or systems engineering
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and ability to learn new systems
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to tell a story using data with Excel or other visualization tools
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
• Ability to obtain/maintain a Top-Secret/SCI security clearance
• Consent to Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph
• U.S. citizenship is required

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present cost analyses grounded in GAO Best Practices to advise senior leaders on cost-informed, threat-resilient USSF force design recommendations
• Develop data-driven cost analyses to frame funding priorities for a 15-year outlook
• Collaborate with DoD and space cost estimation community to capture market trends
• Use quantitative methods to model costs, uncertainty, learning curves, escalation, and rate effects
• Document end-to-end cost estimates with WBS basis, crosschecks, and traceability to prior estimates
• Advance cost estimating methodologies for evolving space missions
• Transform engineering inputs and contractor data into quantifiable cost models for end items
• Structure databases, cost models, and export results for ACEIT tools
• Perform data analytics tasks including data mining, modeling, simulations, and dashboards
