Job summary

Tecolote is seeking a Cost Analyst Subject Matter Expert to lead strategic cost estimates and acquisition strategies for high-visibility military systems projects. You will support development and procurement of space vehicles, ground segments, software suites, and integration infrastructure while ensuring technical and financial compliance.

Responsibilities include leading SSC SBST cost support, coordinating with USG partners, and mentoring junior staff. A TS/SCI clearance and U.S.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (MA/MS) is required.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience.
• Expert experience in cost estimating, program management, contract negotiations, and technical reviews across military systems.
• Extensive knowledge of DoD budgetary principles and procedures.
• Acquisition management regulations, practices, policies, and procedures knowledge.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost support for the Space Systems Command (SSC) SBST mission area, working with Program Control Support staff.
• Interface with Space Force project officers, USG partners, and vendors.
• Direct cost modeling and conduct quick reaction scenario studies for launch vehicles.
• Develop tools, databases, and systems to maximize estimate accuracy while minimizing development time.
• Provide input to independent cost estimating products with defined scope.
• Mentor junior analysts and program managers in cost analysis and estimation concepts.
• Coordinate with external estimating organizations including DAF/AFCAA and OSD/CAPE.
• Oversee data analysis and performance visualization to safeguard government interests.
• Evaluate and document high-visibility acquisition strategies.
• Create CERs using modeling and CADOM data.
