Job summary

Koniag Operations Services, LLC (KOS), a Koniag Government Services company, seeks a Junior SOC Analyst to support SBA in Washington, DC. You will monitor security events, triage alerts, and document incidents under senior staff guidance.

The role provides hands-on experience with SBA's security operations, SIEM, and incident management while fostering growth toward federal cybersecurity certifications and capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, CS or related field.
• 0–2 years in cybersecurity or IT operations with foundational SOC concepts.
• Foundational knowledge of security operations, monitoring, and incident response.
• Certifications such as Security+, CySA+, Network+, SSCP, SC-200.

Responsibilities

• Perform first-line monitoring and triage of security alerts from SBA's SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR.
• Assist in initial triage and analysis of security events.
• Support incident response by documenting details and maintaining records.
• Monitor networks and endpoints for IOCs and anomalous activity.
