Job summary

Griffin Fluid Management in Midland, TX is seeking an entry-level Shop Mechanic to perform hands-on maintenance in our shop/yard and ensure equipment is ready for rent. You will troubleshoot and repair heavy equipment with on-the-job training provided.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to document workmanship and parts used. Training will cover pumps, mechanical and electrical diagnostics, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance in shop/yard with on-the-job training.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to take measurements, document workmanship, and reference standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance on Griffin equipment.
• Dismantle and reassemble pumps using hoists and hand tools.
• Operate and inspect pumps to diagnose mechanical/electrical issues.
• Overhaul and test machines to ensure efficiency and reliability.
• Inspect parts for wear, replace damaged components, reseal or rebuild units as needed.
• Test equipment after repair to ensure proper performance.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used and hours.
• Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues about work performed.
• Work safely following Griffin safety protocols and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
