Job summary

The Gund Company is seeking an Entry Level Composites Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team in Wisconsin. You will perform order fulfillment steps, prepare shipments, label, package, and track products, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include inspecting products, packaging to specified sizes, loading/unloading trucks, and using a forklift in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing setting. Prior warehouse experience is beneficial but not required.

Qualifications

• This role requires reading production or shipping documents.
• Must be able to perform with minimal defects and work independently.
• Ability to learn drawings and blueprints and use basic measuring instruments.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and operate a forklift.
• Overtime availability may be required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare product for shipment by inspecting, labeling and packaging.
• Package materials to specified sizes (e.g., 4x8, 3x6, 3x10).
• Verify quantities against work orders or packing slips.
• Reconcile raw materials with packing slips and store materials properly.
• Operate forklift and load/unload trucks.

We are currently seeking an Entry Level Composites Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our team.

Job Summary

• Implement the Order Fulfillment Process steps related to the preparation of shipments and related documentation to ensure the complete satisfaction of the customer’s requirements.
• Knowledge of various items in stock; ability to select appropriate type and size of container; using appropriate packing material to prevent breakage or damage; closing and sealing containers; applying labels or entering identifying data on container.
• Use of bar code readers, computer terminals or other electronic devices to track product.

Key Responsibilities Composites Shipping and Receiving Associate

• Prepare product for shipment to the customer by inspecting, labeling and packaging product according to standard procedures.
• Packaging 4x8, 3x6, and 3x10 material skids.
• Confirm correct quantity/counts against work order or packing slip.
• Reconcile raw materials against the packing slip.
• Storage of raw materials in their designated home locations.
• Operate forklift.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications and Competencies

• Requires the ability to read production or shipping documents
• Perform work independently with minimal defects
• Communicate with supervisor on work order priority
• Open to change due to emergency orders or fabrication of parts
• Basic to intermediate math skills
• Ability to learn and understand drawing and blueprints
• Ability to use basic measuring instruments
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructionsMust be able to work overtime as needed

Work Environment

• This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and chemicals.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
• The position involves repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform manual tasks as required.

Education and Experience

• A High School Diploma or GED with prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience is required. Prior experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is/may be required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The work environment is typical of most shop environments; not climate controlled and subject to outdoor weather conditions. Team members are exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting.

• Frequent exposure to fumes/dust particles; may require use of respirators or other types of PPE.
• May come in contact with toxic or caustic chemicals.
