Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat Corp. is seeking candidates for its Sheetmetal Department to support the design and construction of nuclear-powered submarines.

The role involves interpreting drawings, performing layout, fabrication, assembly and installation of light gauge metalwork including ductwork and cabinetry. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, or be a current high school senior with 2+ years of relevant technical experience; 0-5 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Interpret construction drawings with basic mathematic ability.
Layout, fabricate, assemble and install light gauge metalwork including air-conditioned ductwork, lockers, cabinets, bulkheads, doors, furniture and Formica.
Follow company drawings, test documents, technical manuals, shipyard procedures and shop machinery to complete tasks.
Work in restricted/confined spaces as required, with adherence to safety protocols.
