Job summary

The City of Cambridge is hiring an entry-level Sewer Maintenance Worker I to learn sewer and storm drain maintenance under close supervision. You will inspect and repair mechanical equipment, help install and service sewer lines, clear backups, and maintain lift stations, including mowing and using a crane truck to pull pumps.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• About six months of mechanical maintenance experience or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license acceptable to the City’s insurer.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair mechanical equipment used in sewer and storm drain maintenance.
• Assist with installation and service of sewer lines.
• Clear backups and maintain lift stations.
• Assist with mowing and using a crane truck to pull pumps.
• Repair or raise damaged or buried manholes.
