Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties at K-12 or higher education campuses. This on-site role involves cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas, sweeping, mopping, waste removal, and maintaining floor and surface cleanliness in accordance with safety procedures. No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.

18+ years old preferred. Prior customer service experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required; on-the-job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• Prior customer service experience is a plus.
• One year of prior similar work experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned areas (classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas).
• Sweep, mop, and remove debris; clean spills and ensure floors are safe and presentable.
• Empty trash and maintain recycling separation.
• Follow safety and chemical-use procedures to protect floors and fixtures.
• Report repairs or needs to supervisor or lead cleaner.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and communal spaces; dust and wipe surfaces.
