Job summary

ABM, a leading facilities services provider, seeks a School Custodian to perform cleaning duties at K-12 campuses and higher education sites. You will clean classrooms, hallways, restrooms and common areas to maintain a safe, welcoming learning environment. We encourage reliability, teamwork, and commitment to safety.

No high school diploma required; on-the-job training provided. Prior customer service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
• Sweep, debris removal, spills cleanup, and mopping in designated areas.
• Regularly check trash receptacles and empty as needed.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to protect floors and fixtures.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or additions to building systems.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
• Sort and recycle materials into proper receptacles.
• Clean dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls; polish surfaces.
• Wipe tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas; move furniture using hand trucks.
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, and mirrors; wash with soapy water.
• Seasonal tasks: sweep, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow.
• Maintain restroom cleanliness and hygiene.
• Comply with safety, security, compliance, and quality standards.
