Job summary

ABM is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 school or campus environment. The role includes cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and offices, with responsibilities for sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and use of cleaning chemicals.

Ideal candidates may have prior customer service experience and are encouraged to apply. No diploma required; on-the-job training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain assigned area, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices and stairways.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
• Regularly check trash receptacles and empty as needed.
• Follow procedures for chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage.
• Notify lead cleaner or manager about repairs or maintenance needs.
• Maintain communication with clients and team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings and walls.
• Polish hard surfaces such as wood and stainless steel.
• Wipe tabletops and equipment in food areas.
