Job summary

The Freeman Company in Atlanta, GA is seeking an entry-level Equipment Technician to repair, inspect and maintain rental electrical/mechanical gear, including chain hoists and related equipment. This role supports our Audio Visual & Event Technology team and requires a hands-on approach in a full-time, on-site office/show-site setting.

You will collaborate with the Service Manager, review wiring diagrams, and assist hoist technicians while gaining exposure to live event production.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred
• Certificate of Completion or Degree in electronics preferred
• Preferred 1–2 years of related experience in rigging production or warehouse operations
• Must maintain a valid state driver's license

Responsibilities

• Repair, inspect and maintain rental inventory of electric chain hoists, winches, and other electrical/mechanical equipment
• Repair, inspect and maintain electric chain hoists as a service for other companies in the entertainment and tradeshow industries
• Reconfigure chain hoists in rental inventory as required by rental demand
• Communicate regularly with Service Manager regarding maintenance concerns, repair parts inventory, and product improvements
• Interpret exploded views, electrical data, and wiring diagrams
• Attend production meetings as required
• Designate tasks to all hoist technicians on a daily basis
• Determine daily workflow for all hoist technicians
