Job summary

San Joaquin County Hospital is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to join the Respiratory Care Department. The role involves administering respiratory therapy as prescribed, operating gas analysis equipment, and ensuring ventilator and patient care support across units.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the State of California Respiratory Care Board.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate respiratory equipment and administer therapies as prescribed by a physician.
• Operate blood gas analysis equipment and report results.
• Inspect and adjust respiratory therapy equipment in patient areas; perform maintenance as needed.
• Set up and maintain long term ventilators.
• Perform screening pulmonary function tests.
• Assist cardiac arrest team by supplying oxygen and CPR equipment as needed.
• Review patient charts and orders; ensure accuracy with physicians.
• May train staff as assigned.
