Western States Equipment Co. is seeking an entry-level technician to support maintenance and repair of construction and Allied equipment.

You will learn to perform preventive maintenance, conduct inspections, and assist experienced technicians in diagnosing issues on engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Under supervision, you will develop skills in using service manuals, parts books, and basic troubleshooting while contributing to safety, reliability, and customer care commitments.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED required.
• One-year practical industry experience preferred (i.e. Rental fleet, Mobile, and Allied equipment).
• Ability to obtain job-related certifications for equipment including forklifts, rigging, and overhead cranes.
• Developing knowledge of Service Information Systems and related applications.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
• Consistent attendance with ability to work overtime or travel as needed.
• Working within and promoting Western States' purpose, vision and values.

Responsabilités

• Identifies operational issues on construction and support equipment using provided checklists.
• Performs basic preventive maintenance and lubrication on mobile and Allied Equipment.
• Safely conducts machine condition inspections and general fleet maintenance.
• Develops basic troubleshooting skills under supervision of a Journeyman or Master Technician.
• Performs tasks independently at technician level during scheduled maintenance.
• Identifies engine components and operation.
• Understands undercarriage components and issues.
• Maintains and inspects hydraulic and electrical systems at a basic level.
• Performs basic maintenance on powertrain and evaluates leaks or worn parts.
• Loads, unloads, and secures rental fleet according to standards.
• Washes, details, and maintains rental fleet while keeping yard organized.
• Participates in continued education and the Career Development Plan.
• Learns to use service manuals and parts books to address issues.
• Develops skills to respond to inquiries promptly and professionally.
