Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Relay Technician to support inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation of electrical power distribution equipment in commercial, industrial, and utility environments. This entry-level role operates under the guidance of senior technicians, engineers, or project leads, with emphasis on safety and accurate field data collection.

Responsibilities include assisting with testing of switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and related equipment;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of related electrical or maintenance experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical theory and safety practices.
• Ability to read basic electrical drawings.
• Proficient in following written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection, testing and maintenance of power systems.
• Set up and operate electrical test equipment under supervision.
• Collect test data and document jobsite observations.
• Follow lockout/tagout and energized-work safety rules.
• Read schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Support travel and overtime as needed.
