Job summary

The Town of Yucca Valley is seeking an entry-level recreation assistant to support customer service at community and park facilities, assist with supervision of sports and activities, and help with program setup.

Under direct supervision, you will perform clerical tasks, monitor safety, enforce rules, and respond to patrons' needs, with opportunities to learn recreation operations and progress as experience is gained.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of town policies and procedures.
• Ability to provide courteous assistance to facility patrons.
• Ability to learn basic computer system operation and data entry.
• Understanding of safety procedures and basic first aid/CPR.
• Ability to work with diverse community members.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning and conducting community events and programs; sets up tables, chairs, and equipment.
• Supervises programs of play activities for children and adults.
• Instructs and assists with activities; explains rules and techniques to participants.
• Performs general office duties: answering phones, data entry, filing, and routine reports.
• Maintains facilities and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
• Provides staff support for community events and ensures safety compliance.
