Job summary

Nucor Rebar Fabrication Southwest is seeking an entry-level production worker in Lathrop, CA. You will bend, cut, bundle, and load reinforcing steel bars according to customer orders, under the guidance of a mentor who trains you in safe operation of all equipment.

This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliability as you perform material handling, cutting, bending, and shipping preparation with a focus on quality and efficiency in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand basic safety and operational instructions.
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic for bar measurements.
• Teamwork and reliability are valued in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload trailers and store material in storage bins.
• Operate a shearing machine or a power saw to cut reinforcing steel bars to specified lengths.
• Operate a bending machine to shape reinforcing steel bars as required.
• Operate an overhead crane to move, assemble and select material for fabrication or shipment.
• Assemble and load orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Operate a spray gun for epoxy touch up on reinforcing steel bars.
• Maintain the shop area in a clean and safe manner.
