Job summary

Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership in West Paducah, KY is seeking an entry level Radiation Protection Technician to participate in a training and qualification program, assisting senior radiological control technicians and management in monitoring and controls for radioactive materials and related equipment.

Under direct supervision, the role includes supporting the management team, data analysis of readings, and performing routine tasks while adhering to safety policies and DOE orders.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 6 months health physics experience or DOE RCT Core Training.
• Active DOE security clearance or ability to obtain.
• Strong math/science aptitude.
• Intermediate interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must pass Radiological Control Technician Examination and Oral Board.
• Intermediate PC skills including Microsoft software.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support management in monitoring, controls and processes for radioactive materials and radiation generating material and equipment in compliance with procedures and DOE orders.
• Provide assigned technical, administrative or functional support to the management team.
• Analyze data within a limited scope and compare routine readings with pre-determined standards.
• Perform a variety of tasks general/routine in complexity.
• Other job related duties as assigned.
• Maintain knowledge of and demonstrate ability to perform work safely in accordance with safety policies and procedures.
• Actively participates in Safety Work Groups.
