Job summary

Four Rivers Nuclear Partnership, LLC is seeking a Radiation Protection Technician to support the Radiation Protection management team in ensuring compliance with procedures, policies, and DOE Orders. You will assist in radiological monitoring, controls, and measurements relevant to radioactive materials and radiation-generating equipment.

Responsibilities include planning radiological work, monitoring work areas, documenting shipments and waste, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of operational health physics experience; 1 year in DOE/NNSA complex preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain active DOE security clearance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Support Radiation Protection management with assigned technical, administrative, or functional duties.
  • Assist in planning radiological work and monitoring work areas; enforce radiological controls.
  • Document and verify measurements for radioactive shipments, waste, and free releases.
  • Recommend corrective actions to reduce contamination when detected.
  • Mentor less experienced technicians; perform complex radiological safety tasks.
  • Maintain safe work practices per policies, procedures, and regulations.
