Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Quality Tech to support the Colorado Market by performing entry-level quality control testing, inspection, and documentation for aggregate and Hot Mix Asphalt materials. You will work with Plant Operations, Dispatch, Project Management, and the Division Lab to monitor material consistency and support daily testing.

This role emphasizes safety, environmental stewardship, and collaboration with field teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CAPA Levels A & B certification required.
• Radiation Safety Training Certificate required.
• No prior work experience required; 6 months–1 year in Quality Control Testing within HMA or Aggregates is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine testing of aggregates and HMA per ASTM, AASHTO, CDOT, and internal standards.
• Test gradation, moisture content, density, temperature, and asphalt binder content.
• Interact with customers at job sites and provide basic guidance on HMA placement and compaction.
• Maintain logs of testing at lab, plant, and job sites, including observations and results.
• Communicate daily HMA testing results to plant operations, project teams, and management.
• Support quality objectives with operations, dispatch, estimators, and project management.
• Participate in occasional lab work for training, mix design support, and special projects.
