Job summary

West Virginia University is seeking an entry-level PRT Electronics Specialist I to support maintenance of the automated Personal Rapid Transit system. The role involves test, troubleshoot, and repair of life-safety electronics at multiple station locations, including outdoor environments and varying shifts.

Drug testing and background checks are part of employment, with a strong focus on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics or equivalent
• At least 6 months of experience testing, maintaining, and repairing electronic equipment
• All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify life-safety electronics equipment; analyze data and calibrate circuitry.
• Perform preventive and unscheduled maintenance on control room electronics, CCTV, intercom, signage, and related systems.
• Operate vehicles, follow emergency plans, coordinate with PRT staff via radio, and support operations during events.
