Job summary

Regal Rexnord in Radford, VA is seeking an Electronics Technician to perform in-process and final electrical tests, troubleshoot to component level, and document test results in quality records. You will read wiring diagrams, solder, work with ESd sensitive components, assist in mechanical assembly, and maintain a clean, safe production area on the plant floor with strong attention to detail.

Eligibility includes an associate degree in electronics or related experience, and the role supports

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electronics or related experience is required.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing and managing files and records.
• Knowledge of Electronic theory comprehension from system to component level.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and basic knowledge of arithmetic.
• Ability to use complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, adjustable measuring instruments; posting, preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records, and related.
• Ability to follow written test procedures and verify test limits.
• Proficiency reading wiring diagrams, identifying components, and soldering.
• Requires the use of judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of setups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods.
• Self-motivated and capable of completing tasks without supervision.
• Very high degree of accuracy and attention to detail for working with small electronic components.
• Ability to detect and correct solder bridges and other discrepancies.
• Strong leadership ability and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final electrical tests per approved procedures, including motor systems tests and burn-in.
• Troubleshoot and repair to component level; perform failure analysis and recommend corrective action.
• Record final test data clearly; review manufacturing documents for completion and traceability; prepare required quality documentation.
• Coordinate with colleagues and supervisors; hand off completed work to the next cell as needed.
• Support quality throughout operations as outlined in the ID Quality Manual.
• Assist in mechanical assembly of electronics hardware as required.
• Keep tools and work area clean and observe safety precautions; handle ESd sensitive components only at static-safe workstations.
