Job summary

TEI Construction Services Inc. seeks a Project Financial Analyst to support project financial activities, maintain accurate data, and help ensure projects are executed efficiently and profitably. You will work on diverse U.S.

projects and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to build analytical and project accounting skills. This role emphasizes GAAP compliance, forecasting updates, and close support, with travel to project sites as needed and close partnership with field teams and leadership

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 0–3 years of work experience in finance analytics or project accounting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, reviewing, and maintaining accurate financial documentation.
  • Support project cost codes and budget setup activities.
  • Monitor project costs, labor hours, and forecast updates under guidance from senior team members.
  • Prepare project billing and reconciling general ledger accounts as needed.
  • Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations and accruals, in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Help analyze project financial data to identify trends or variances.
  • Prepare and summarize data sets—such as cost trends, profitability, AP/AR balances, and schedule performance for review by project teams and management.
  • Assist in identifying potential project risks and support data-driven recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to established financial and project processes.
  • Provide day-to-day support to project teams, including forecasting updates, time collection troubleshooting (e.g., InEight), and project closeout tasks.
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation.
  • Work closely with finance, field teams, and project leadership to support financial and operational alignment.
  • Communicate with clients regarding project costs, invoicing, and progress metrics as needed.
  • Remain flexible and available for limited travel to project sites across the U.S., occasionally on short notice.

Education

Associates Degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Job description

In this role, you will support project financial activities, help maintain accurate project data, and assist in ensuring projects are executed efficiently and profitably. This position offers exposure to diverse construction projects across the U.S. and the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams while developing your analytical and project accounting skills.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Financial Management
  • Assist with collecting, reviewing, and maintaining accurate financial documentation.
  • Support project cost codes and budget setup activities.
  • Monitor project costs, labor hours, and forecast updates (ETC) under guidance from senior team members.
  • Prepare project billing and reconciling general ledger accounts as needed.
  • Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations and accruals, in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
Critical Thinking
  • Help analyze project financial data to identify trends or variances.
  • Prepare and summarize data sets—such as cost trends, profitability, AP/AR balances, and schedule performance for review by project teams and management.
  • Assist in identifying potential project risks and support data-driven recommendations.
Project Execution
  • Ensure adherence to established financial and project processes.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Associates Degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 0 - 3 years of work experience in finance analytics, project accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Skills:
  • Work experience in the construction industry
  • Experience with PowerBI, Costpoint, InEight, Microsoft Dynamics
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn complex project systems
