Position Overview

We are looking for bright and talented individuals who enjoy working in cross-functional teams and are passionate about developing the next generation of features and functions for International vehicles. International Motors, LLC is a leading manufacturer of trucks and buses and part of the global TRATON group. Our culture emphasizes delivering solutions to complex problems quickly and with quality, with the goal of providing superior product performance to our customers.

The International Controls Software Development Team is responsible for developing embedded controls for International trucks, including software requirements, design, coding, testing, integration, and release.

The Lab Infrastructure team supports all testing types for International ECU applications, including:

  • Electric Vehicle Controls
  • Engine Controls
  • Body Feature and Chassis Controls, including ADAS
  • Vehicle and System Modeling

In this role, the engineer will focus on developing and supporting multiple levels of test benches, including basic benches for early development, diagnostics, and communication; specialty test rigs for vendor software validation; and Hardware in the Loop (HIL) test benches simulating loads, sensors, and vehicle models for closed-loop testing. The role also involves developing test frameworks, automation, and scripting using Python or similar languages.

Responsibilities
  • Perform in a team environment and collaborative atmosphere.
  • Utilize HIL tools to develop dynamic models of vehicle sub-systems for closed-loop testing.
  • Support industry-standard HIL hardware and software.
  • Support virtual vehicle-in-the-loop (ViL) eMobility propulsion and real-time testing platforms.
  • Develop models for eVehicle plant & controllers, including multi-speed EV drives and HV batteries.
  • Participate in peer reviews to foster continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science.
  • Or currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in these fields with graduation prior to employment.
Additional Requirements
  • Legal authorization to work in the US (US Citizen, Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee). Sponsorship is not expected for this position.
