Job summary

CSL in Kankakee, IL is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to apply engineering fundamentals and develop project management skills for capital projects in a GMP manufacturing setting.

You will work under the guidance of a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, receiving structured coaching while building capability in delivering projects on time, within budget and to specification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or sciences required; entry level position.
• Foundational engineering concepts, tools, and design techniques learned through studies or internships.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documents (P&IDs, GA drawings, single-line diagrams).
• Strong interest in applying project management principles and coordinating multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, monitoring and control of capital projects within scope, budget and schedule.
• Assist in developing technical design, qualification and commissioning documentation.
• Prepare and maintain project management documents: schedules, cost tracking and progress reports.
• Collaborate with Project Manager and contractors to ensure safety, quality and compliance.
