Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking a Project Engineer to join the National SPG for the Carolinas division. This entry‑level role provides hands‑on experience in planning, scheduling, documentation, and coordination between team members, subcontractors, and clients.

You'll work closely with project leadership to support preconstruction, field coordination, and quality control while developing technical, organizational, and leadership skills for a long‑term career in construction management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, and project coordination principles.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Promote and enforce safety rules; assist with safety documentation and inspections.
• Attend and document preconstruction meetings; help develop scopes of work and bid packages.
• Identify long‑lead items, maintain expediting logs, and assist with submittal schedules.
• Administer RFI and submittal processes, coordinating across trades and schedules.
• Track subcontractor progress and maintain as‑built drawings and documentation.
• Support change management, prepare progress reports, and document meetings.
