Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Project Engineer I to perform engineering design and calculations for excavation and structural shoring schemes, supporting Sunbelt’s product lines. The role requires basic structural analysis knowledge and geotechnical soil properties, using engineering principles to produce calculations and drawings under supervision.

The position involves preparing calculations, creating drawings, analyzing data, and coordinating with customers, sales, and operations.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structural or geotechnical engineering.
• Familiarity with structural analysis, mechanics of materials, and soil analysis.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Mathcad, and AutoCAD or REVIT.

Responsibilities

• Prepares calculations and drawings under the direction of a professional engineer.
• Creates drawings in support of Sunbelt equipment.
• Analyzes reports, project construction drawings, maps, testing data, topographical and geologic data to determine design parameters.
• Interacts with customers, sales, and operations.
• May be required to attend meetings or job sites with customers or sales/operations staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
