Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking an entry-level production operator to set up and run automated and semi-automatic machinery. The role involves following SOPs, reading blueprints, ensuring product quality, and maintaining production records within a safety-focused environment.

Ideal candidates will be able to perform routine tasks under supervision, with opportunities to develop skills in machine operation, quality inspection, and process optimization.

Qualifications

• Requires attending a Vocational/Technical School or internal training program or equivalent
• No prior experience needed

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates production equipment to manufacture, process, and assemble various commercial products and substances.
• Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, and SOPs to produce products.
• Monitors output for quality and conformance to required metrics.
• Prepares and maintains records of production activities and reports any inconsistencies or equipment issues.
• Follows guidelines for safe material handling and protective gear.
• Studies and records time, motion, methods, and speed to improve efficiency.
• Establishes standard production rate in maintenance, production, clerical, and other worker operations.
• Troubleshoots issues related to manufacturing operations and industrial layout.
