Job summary

Champion Foods LLC seeks an entry-level line maintenance operator to set up and start complex manufacturing equipment, run tests, and perform basic preventive maintenance. You will diagnose minor issues, ensure GMP compliance, and assist newer colleagues while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Responsibilities include tuning equipment, monitoring processes, documenting data in the software system, and supporting change-overs under established procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for effective manufacture and distribution of materials.
• Six months experience in a production environment with knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, maintenance and attention to detail and accuracy.
• Evidence of ability to identify problems and review related information to develop options and solve problems.
• Working knowledge of GMP, OSHA, USDA, BRC, and FDA and other regulatory and safety requirements and practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly and explain technical manufacturing equipment.
• Evidence of organization and planning skills and ability to meet production deadlines.
• Knowledge of basic mathematical skills (ability to understand numbers, percentages, formulas, etc.)
• Communicate in English
• Work together as a team and cooperate with other team members treating everyone with dignity and respect, keeping open communication

Responsibilities

• Set up, start, and adjust equipment for quality and productivity; tune equipment as necessary.
• Assist lesser skilled production associates and troubleshoot production issues.
• Monitor and adjust production processes for GMP compliance and productivity.
• Operate with minimal supervision and follow established procedures.
• Apply GMP/OSHA/FDA/USDA/BRC requirements in daily work.
• Provide information and/or direction to less experienced staff.
• Inspect ingredients, products and packaging for quality; report variances.
• Evaluate equipment condition and take corrective action as needed.
• Enter required information into applicable software systems.
• Understand operation of various equipment and perform runs.
• Specify tools and maintain them in good condition.
• Ensure readiness for change-overs and start-ups.
• Meet set goals and objectives and perform other duties as assigned.
• Keep work area clean, safe and organized.
