Job summary

Wabtec in Greenville is seeking an entry-level production associate to perform sorting, packaging, assembly, and operate machinery to complete job orders. You will move materials with forklift, read work instructions, and work with electrical and mechanical equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Candidates should have 0-1 years in manufacturing, the ability to obtain a forklift license, and basic math and measuring skills.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years experience in manufacturing environment; high school or technical school industrial training preferred.
• Ability to obtain forklift license.
• Experience with hand and power tools preferred.
• Basic math and measuring skills.
• Ability to read & interpret drawings & work procedures.
• Ability for critical thinking and problem solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in an enclosed area in an air supplied suit.
• Must be willing to work in team environment.
• Able to work with little supervision, is self-motivated and a self-starter.

Responsibilities

• Package components for shipment.
• Basic assembly of components.
• Move material to and from workstation by forklift, hand, cart and crane as required.
• Work with electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Maintain equipment as required.
• Use machinery safely and efficiently.
• Inspect and test completed units.
• Read and interpret work instructions, schematics, blueprints, and drawings.
• Interpret routing instructions.
• Tag or mark identifying information on parts.
• Grease or lubricate parts as required.
• Adjust and grind down parts if necessary.
• Blast parts as required.
• Inspect parts for flaws and imperfections.
• Measured dimensions.
• Weigh and count parts.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Follow all housekeeping and safety rules.
• Other duties as required
