Job summary

Surge Staffing seeks a Production Control Purchasing Coordinator to manage ordering and tracking of components, raw materials, and production supplies. You will help maintain inventory levels, support manufacturing schedules, and control freight costs to prevent production disruptions.

The ideal candidate has experience in purchasing, inventory, materials, or production control, and is comfortable working with numbers, inventory data, suppliers, and internal manufacturing teams to keep materials

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, materials, production control, or related field.
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Team-oriented and self-motivated.
• Comfortable working with computers and Microsoft Office.
• Professional phone and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Place purchase orders for components, parts, and raw materials.
• Monitor orders and track deliveries to ensure materials arrive on schedule.
• Maintain inventory levels within established company targets.
• Monitor inventory turns and identify potential shortages or excess inventory.
• Control and monitor freight costs, including opportunities to reduce premium freight.
• Perform quarterly and as-needed cycle counts.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Assist with developing and implementing corrective actions for inventory issues.
• Support production requirements by ensuring materials are available when needed.
• Participate in meetings and represent purchasing within the department.
