Job description

Lynchburg Mill is seeking an hourly Entry Level Production Laborer to train and learn various production positions within the paper mill.

The position reports to the on-shift Production Supervisor but may also report to other managers within the mill.

The production laborer is expected to follow all plant safety rules and procedures. This is a shift-based position requiring candidates to work scheduled shifts (7-3, 3-11, 11-7), including weekends and holidays. Overtime may be offered, both planned and unplanned, and candidates should be prepared to work overtime without notice on rare occasions.

Primary duties include safely performing tasks such as operating forklifts, stacking/moving materials, finishing rolls, setting up materials, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and other assigned tasks.

Expectations of the Candidate:

• Ability to operate manufacturing equipment, including forklifts, follow instructions, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Maintain a positive attitude to achieve results in a team environment.
• Basic math skills, ability to read a tape measure, and familiarity with computers and MS Office.
• Work safely and comply with all safety regulations.
• Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 50 lbs., and to navigate stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the shift.
• Reliable transportation and punctuality.
• Availability to work daily, including weekends and holidays.
