Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking entry-level Process Engineers for its Malta, NY location to support and improve semiconductor equipment and processes. You will join the Engineering organization and help with process transfer, ramp, and SOP development while coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.

The role targets new graduates with a BS in related fields, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Education – Graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or related field from an accredited degree program.
• Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.
• Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)

Responsibilities

• Support process transfer, equipment planning, selection, configuration, installation, startup, and volume ramp for the relevant process.
• Establish and document the process engineering business processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) necessary to run tools in production.
• Create training materials and provide training for shift technicians.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and equipment suppliers to support timely ramp‑up plans.
• Collaborate with Process Integration, Manufacturing, Technology Development, and vendors/suppliers.
• After equipment startup and ramp, support daily sustaining activities, performance tracking, equipment matching, and continuous improvement.
• Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC), structured problem‑solving skills, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methods.
• Other Responsibilities: Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
