Job summary

The University of Minnesota PCRC is seeking an entry-level animal care and research assistant to join a team focused on humane animal husbandry and GLP-compliant data collection in a fast-paced biomedical research setting.

You will assist with daily care, enrichment, data recording, and protocol development while working with rodents, pigs and nonhuman primates; training is provided and the role offers opportunities to contribute to groundbreaking work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a social or natural science or related field is required.
• Experience working with small and large animals is preferred.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily observation/assessment of animals and collect data to support metabolic research.
• Record data, make assessments, and perform basic data analysis to inform future actions.
• Maintain records and assist with training and educational programs.
