Job summary

Marathon staffing is seeking a Press Machine Operator to join our metal fabrication team. No extensive experience required—training provided. The right candidate is reliable, eager to learn, safety-conscious, and a team player.

Key responsibilities include operating hydraulic press machines, loading materials, following blueprints, and performing basic quality checks. We offer on-the-job training and opportunities to advance as you gain experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (or willingness to obtain).
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliability.
• Willingness to learn hydraulic press operation and metal fabrication processes.
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely around machinery.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Good attendance record and punctuality.
• Team player who takes pride in their work.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate hydraulic press machines to form, stamp, or shape metal parts under supervision/training.
• Load and unload metal materials/parts into the press safely and accurately.
• Follow work instructions, blueprints, or visual guides to produce parts to spec.
• Perform basic quality checks on finished parts (visual inspection, simple measuring tools).
• Learn to recognize and report equipment issues, unusual sounds, or hydraulic leaks.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe (5S principles).
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and proper PPE use.
• Maintain basic production records (piece counts, downtime).
• Work well with teammates and supervisors, and communicate proactively.
