Job summary

The Beck Group in Tampa, FL is seeking an entry-level Preconstruction Engineer to support the project team in early design and budgeting activities. You will assist in preparing quantity takeoffs, pricing, and initial estimates for interior, envelope and site scopes under senior supervision.

You will gain exposure to preconstruction technologies (DESTINI Estimator, Revit, BIM360, Procore) and develop project documents while learning Beck'sBest Practices and processes.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of relevant construction experience OR college graduate with a relevant degree
• Internship in architectural or commercial construction preferred but not required
• Fundamental understanding of project documents
• Familiar with MS Office; some exposure to preconstruction technologies
• Experience with 3D model-based applications such as Revit, BIM360, Navisworks, Sketchup, DESTINI Estimator is a plus

Responsibilities

• Understand Beck's Best Practices and standards
• Provide quantity takeoffs and initial pricing
• Estimate Interior, Envelope, and Site Scopes with minimal direction
• Organize and develop estimates using UniFormat, CSI, and Bid Tabulation
• Develop and maintain project documents
• Utilize preconstruction tech (DESTINI Estimator, Revit, BIM360, Procore) and MS Office
• Interact professionally with subcontractors and vendors
• Support feasibility and budgeting activities
• Learn and apply overhead, fee, and insurance add-ons
