Job summary

LG&E and KU Energy LLC offers an entry-level power plant operations trainee position focused on learning the operation and routine maintenance of turbines, boilers, generators, pollution control equipment and related systems in a training capacity.

Under supervision, you will participate in safety training, follow procedures, report issues promptly, maintain clean work areas, and develop skills to advance to higher classifications within the company.

Qualifications

• Must meet all general qualifications of employment.
• Must be willing to work regular, irregular, or rotating shift schedules as assigned.
• Must be able and willing to comply with all safety rules.
• Must be able to safely perform physical requirements of the job.
• Must possess the willingness and ability to acquire necessary knowledge and skills to advance to higher classifications.
• Must have successfully completed all required testing and training programs promulgated by the company.

Responsibilities

• Employee will be knowledgeable of and follow all safety rules, procedures and practices
• Actively participate and successfully complete assigned training and development activities and requirements.
• In normal performance of duties, employee will watch for and promptly report to supervision any damaged or defective equipment or conditions which may cause damage or injury.
• Employee will perform duties of lower or higher classifications that are incidental to the job and are within their capabilities, including those needed for purpose of training in the requirements of the higher classification.
• Employee will keep all equipment, tools, materials, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
• Employee will perform work in a responsible and cooperative manner to facilitate a positive working environment.
• Employee will represent the Company to the community with attention to the highest standards of conduct, appearance and attitude.
