Shield AI is seeking an entry-level Power Electronics Engineer to contribute to X-BAT power architecture and flight milestones. You will work under mentorship with senior engineers, owning portions of the power system design and verification, from concept through flight test support.

Ideal candidates have a solid foundation in circuits and power systems, hands-on lab experience, and familiarity with Altium or KiCad. Seattle area on-site role with potential bonuses and equity options.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Hands-on experience with power electronics such as converters, motor drivers, batteries, or high-power systems.
• Familiarity with electrical design tools (Altium, KiCad).
• Experience with oscillosopes, lab supplies, and test gear beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Own a power electronics design impacting system performance and flight milestones.
• Contribute to hardware lifecycle from concept to flight test support.
• Design/analyze low- and high-voltage power systems (DC-DC, inverters, motor controllers, batteries).
• Collaborate with ECAD on PCB layout and thermal performance.
• Perform board bring-up, debugging, and validation with test equipment.
• Support environmental and qualification testing for aerospace reliability.
