Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is seeking an entry-level Power Components Assembler for the 1st shift. You will stock parts, visually inspect components, and assemble from drawings or BOMs, while wiring panels and switches and performing tests on de-energized components.

You will operate drill presses and torque wrenches, handle hazardous materials, and work in a team with minimal supervision, following safety procedures and instructions. Training on new equipment is ongoing.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering.
• Candidate must have work authorization to work in the United States.
• One year of experience in a manufacturing assembly setting preferred.
• Able to regularly lift up to 40 lbs safely.

Responsibilities

• Utilize drill presses, fixtures, torque wrenches and automated tightening equipment.
• De-energize tap changers and power transformer components.
• Package materials to meet internal procedures and specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements.
• Handle assembly materials, some being hazardous, such as solvents, gaskets, O-rings, machined components and packaging.
• Work within a team structure with minimal supervision on routine tasks.
• Continuously train on new equipment and processes within the power components area.
• Read and comprehend safety procedures, work instructions, assembly drawings and wiring schematics.
• Operate and learn specialized internal programs needed to perform job functions.
• Uphold Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values.
