Job summary

The Town of Oro Valley invites applications for lateral police officers with OVPD. To qualify you must hold AZPOST certification (or out-of-state equivalent) and have completed field training with a law enforcement agency; three years of continuous police experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• AZPOST certification or out-of-state equivalent.
• Field training and probationary period completed.
• Three years of continuous police experience preferred; consideration on a case-by-case basis.
• Must pass background investigation and polygraph examination.
• No felony convictions.

Responsibilities

• Protect life and property and enforce federal, state and local laws.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Arrest suspects for criminal violations and write search warrants.
• Prepare reports, collect evidence and assist investigations.
• Maintain traffic safety and enforce traffic laws and ordinances.
• Provide first aid and coordinate community crime prevention activities.
