Under supervision, the helper may assist with minor preventative maintenance tasks and learn basic job functions, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and quality in a heavy equipment environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in maintenance preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn mechanical basics and safety procedures.
• Exposure to preventative maintenance processes under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-shift and post-shift inspections and basic maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and replace simple mechanical components.
• Perform minor structural repairs and weld/cut as needed under supervision.
• Adhere to MSHA/OSHA regulations and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Observe operations and identify anomalies for minor adjustments.
• Record service logs and maintenance records for plant equipment.
