Qualifications

• Entry-level physician coding experience in professional or physician practice coding is required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS classification systems is needed.
• Computer/typing literacy is required; knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology is essential.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and code physician services using ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS.
• Code diagnoses, co-morbidities, complications, procedures, supplies and drugs.
• Assist Central Business Office to maximize reimbursement and manage denials.
• Notify Lead/Manager/Compliance of any compliance issues.
• Communicate with physicians, offices, coding team and manager.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and regular attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
