Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking a production associate to support manufacturing of photonics components. The role involves kitting, operating machines, and in-process measurements within a team, with duties across coating and optics production. The position is based in the Newton, NJ area and may require work at other Thorlabs locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience or related technical education.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand written work instructions and technical drawings.
• Proficient in basic computer skills such as Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare raw materials and set up for processing.
• Operate and perform daily maintenance on production machines.
• Load and unload thin film coating vacuum deposition equipment.
• Use metrology devices to inspect parts.
• Sort, count, and inspect parts for defects.
• Maintain production records in the Manufacturing Database.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement and follow safety procedures.
