Job summary

The American Red Cross in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking candidates for a phlebotomy trainee role with paid training provided. You will assist with the blood collection process, support donors, and operate at donation sites under safety procedures.

No prior phlebotomy experience is required and training will be provided to grow healthcare skills within the organization. Starting at $18.20/hr with a schedule that may include early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
• Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights and long hours/schedule changes.
• Basic computer skills are required. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take the time to personally connect with donors and explain the impact of donation.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Be detailed oriented to ensure collected blood meets goals and safety standards.
• Load and operate equipment at donation sites; may drive Red Cross vehicles.
