Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or current enrollment in High School/GED program.
• Illinois Pharmacy Technician license within 60 days of application.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification required by the second license renewal (with listed exceptions).
• Prior pharmacy training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist in filling medication orders, including IV admixtures and floor stock.
• Complies with Federal, State regulations related to drug control, storage, dispensing or returns.
• Monitors medication stock levels and notifies staff of depletion of critical medications.
• Delivers medications in a timely manner, prioritizing patient needs.
• Uses pharmacy software to generate labels, post charges and enter patient data.
• Serves as backup for other areas within the unit when needed.
