Job summary

Blaszkow Legal, PLLC seeks an entry-level Legal Assistant in Northern Virginia to support a busy personal injury practice. The role involves data entry, opening files, liaising with insurance companies, reviewing medical records, drafting correspondence, answering phones, and learning all areas of Virginia, Maryland, and DC personal injury law.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service, a desire to advocate for clients, and availability for occasional weekend/evening work.

Qualifications

• Typing speed of at least 45 WPM
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (or other listed languages)

Responsibilities

• Interview new clients and perform comprehensive evaluations of what has been done, and what needs to
• Initiate contact with insurance companies, and open firm files, to including the sending of correspondence
• Send for medical records, itemized bills, and other documents
• Follow-up on outstanding requests
• Organize incoming faxes
• Update Paralegals and Attorneys on case status
• Answer telephones
• Administrative and other management functions related to the practice of law
