Job summary

Blaszkow Legal, PLLC in Northern Virginia seeks an entry-level Legal Assistant to support the team in personal injury matters across VA, MD, and DC. You will handle data entry, file openings, communications with insurance companies, and document management.

No prior legal experience required; the firm provides training, competitive pay, bonuses, PTO, health insurance, and a retirement plan with employer match. Bilingual candidates receive a translation bonus.

Qualifications

• Experience with typing (minimum 45 WPM)
• Ability to handle numerous tasks, and prioritize completion order
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to build rapport with clients
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• For bilingual candidates: fluent in English and Spanish, Arabic, Farsi, Pashtu, or Amharic

Responsibilities

• Interview new clients and perform comprehensive evaluations of what has been done, and what needs to be
• Initiate contact with insurance companies, and open firm files, to including the sending of correspondence
• Send for medical records, itemized bills, and other documents
• Follow-up on outstanding requests
• Organize incoming faxes
• Update Paralegals and Attorneys on case status
• Answer telephones
• Administrative and other management functions related to the practice of law
• (Candidate will be eligible for promotion to Paralegal after 6 months)
