Responsibilities

• Collects, reports, and documents data: vital signs, height/weight, intake/output, pulse oximetry.
• Obtains blood samples by venipuncture.
• Acquires 12 lead EKG.
• Performs and reports POCT.
• Assists with patient activities and care as per plan of care.
• Provides for patients' personal hygiene and comfort.
• Assists with feeding, ambulation, and safety.
• Maintains patient privacy and infection control measures.
• Documents and keeps patient care areas clean and stocked.

Medical Assistant program completed

Medical Corpsman program completed

EMT program completed

UTMB Hospital Aide Training Program completed

Two years of direct patient care experience

Certified MA, PCT, or CNA at hire
