CGS is seeking an entry-level Paralegal to support United States Attorneys and DOJ attorneys. The role involves managing electronic filings, case tracking, and document preparation within a legal team.

You will download and upload ECFs, perform basic legal research, and assist in discovery, motions, briefs, and courtroom tasks. A proactive, detail-oriented candidate will thrive in this government-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Entry-level paralegal position within a government-context team.
• Experience with electronic court filings is preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.

Responsibilities

• Downloads electronic case filings (ECFs) from Pacer.
• Uploads the electronic case filings to the automated matters systems.
• Enters filing information into a case tracking system.
• Creates and provides links to the electronic case filings to the DOJ Attorneys.
• Responds to DOJ attorney requests for filing information and retrieval.
• Compiles, prepares, and summarizes relevant materials for use by attorneys in discovery and in preparation of motions, briefs and other legal documents.
• Conducts simple to moderately complex database searches.
• Performs simple legal research.
• Indexes, tracks and controls document discovery, depositions, and trial.
• Prepares exhibit cross-references.
• Assists attorneys in courtroom.
